New Crumar Performer

It’s not often that a brand new synth appears in the stock of a music store. Especially when it was released in 1979 and somehow has been lost in the warehouse for nearly 32 years. But that is indeed what I’ve just found.

A pristine Crumar Performer, arguably not one of the most amazing synths of it’s day, but one with quite a few nice points and a very warm sound. Usually when I find an old synth of this vintage in such good nick I’d expect it to be a rebuild or restoration. This one isn’t one thats seen better days, it’s never seen any. The only people other than myself that’s seen it since it was originally sealed into the box in Italy was the wonderful Sam and his technicians at Ceceres Music who gave it a thorough checking over. Even the original carry case is wrapped up in the box awaiting the joys of use. I certainly wish my modern Korg synths came with these, makes it so much easier to gig with. It’s a very rare honor to play a new synth from this era and I’m going to relish it.

For the moment I’ll leave you with some photos of this beast, I’ll post up some other stuff about it in the coming weeks.
